The Northern Poetry Library is holding a poetry competition in celebration of its 50th Anniversary. The Poem of the North will bring together the work of the fifty successful poets, in five cantos, published over a period of five months. We're proud to be supporting the prize by offering free PBS memberships to five selected poets.
The prize is open to all with a northern connection, but hurry! The submission deadline is 12:00pm GMT this Sunday, the 17th June. The competition encourages writers to work in a new poetic form of 821, where there are three stanzas of eight, two and a single line respectively. You can find out more about the competition and submit here.
