This week marked #InternationalWomensDay and we're proud to champion powerful poetry by incredible women across the world. We're celebrating our 2021-22 alumnae and the wide ranging experiences their books reflect, including Warsan Shire's Bless the Daughter Raised by a Voice in her Head - "an ode to my unhinged women... a celebration of their wicked humour and bewildering strength, their courage and bombastic love", Nidhi Zak / Aria Eipe on migration and islamophobia, Isabelle Baafi on life as a woman of colour, Alice Hiller on surviving sexual abuse, Jessica Traynor on negotiating early parenthood, Fathima Zahra on growing up as a Muslim woman and so many more rich and varied experiences of women worldwide.
