"This book is about the ways my mum protected me. It is about a girl scared of morphing lions; eating, dying, the church, men. It is about growing up in fear but also wetting-yourself-laughing with friends. There is loss and learning and loving and finding". - Rachel Long, PBS Autumn Bulletin
