Sublime Green Liniment By Mark Wright
‘Sublime Green Liniment’ is a collection steeped in nature, memory and myth. Through verse that is both vivd, carefully rhythmic and meditative the reader is taken through a landscape shaped by both the enduring human condition and the raw forces of nature. The poems are violent and tender in equal measure and often invoke the sense of the folkloric. From the violence of the ‘Skinned Hare’ to the warmness and underlying finality of a ‘Harvest Hymn’, these poems are a testament to the old ways and their lasting relevance today.
Mark Wright was born in 1998 in Bradford. He lives and works in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
