Amuse Girl by Hannah Raymond-Cox
Amuse Girl is a very bad pun on amuse-gueule, a small dish sent out by the chef to awaken the diner's palate before a meal. The concept of amuse-gueule is also unfairly perceived as slightly naughty, because gueule is another word for 'gob'. The phrase has been hyper-corrected to amuse-bouche in Western restaurants, but still manages to retain the sense of a euphemism in being a 'mouth-amuser'. These poems intended to enliven the palate, satiate the mind, and send you on a weird culinary journey.
