On 21st September at the Royal Festival Hall in London's Southbank Centre, Andrew Marr will be awarding the Forward Prizes as chairman of a judging panel which also includes poets Sandeep Parmar, Ian Duhig and Mona Arshi, and artist and writer Chris Riddell.
A number of the best contemporary poets we've featured in our issues over the last year are in the shortlists for the three prizes. Click on the titles to see the books in our online store.
Sinéad Morrisey's On Balance, which was our Summer Choice, is up for the Forward Prize for Best Collection.
Our Spring 2017 Recommendation Stranger, Baby by Emily Berry and recent Autumn Recommendation The Tragic Death of Eleanor Marx by Tara Bergin are also in the running for this prize.
Ocean Vuong's Night Sky with Exit Wounds, which was one of our Summer Recommendations, has been shortlisted for the Felix Dennis Prize for Best First Collection.
Best of luck to all of these poets, and all the other contestants in the shortlist! If you'd like to attend, you can book through the Southbank Centre website here.
